BayerPic2006EXAMPLE OF SUPPORT FROM OUR MEMBERS:

Staff at Bayer CropScience Pty Ltd - Hawthorn Office held a AFL Finals Luncheon and 2007 AFL Staff Calendar Launch to raise funds for the Unity Foundation

from Bayer CropScience Intranet, author Joanne Davis

Finals time in Melbourne may have been quieter than normal this year for the Bayer CropScience Pty Ltd Hawthorn based staff, but their footy spirits were lifted with the release of the 2007 AFL Staff Calendar.

The calendar was used as a novel way of raising funds for the Unity Foundation. A charity founded by AFL footballers, Xavier Clarke and former AFL player Allan Murray, with a focus on inspiring and encouraging local Indigenous communities to reach their full potential and life long goals.

The calendars were sold during a AFL theme staff lunch on the 22 September, with everyone digging into a meat pie while watching a classic Grand Final. Fund-raising efforts were supported by the Unity Foundation, who donated a Fully Signed Melbourne Storm Jumper and Xavier Clarke's signed Match Day St Kilda jumper for auction.

With the calendar sales, staff lunch and jumper auctions as well as donations from the 2006 Bayer CropScience Footy Tippers, we were able to raise $1026.00. The Bayer GIVE program will add $1,000 to this total.

"BayerGIVEI have been overwhelmed by the support of all the staff. Their willingness to get involved and be such good sports has been the reason behind the success of this event. The Unity Foundation couldn't be happier with the result. " Commented Joanne Davis.

Thank you to Joanne, staff who participated and the Bayer GIVE program for your generous donation of $2,026 which will assist the Unity Foundation with funds to deliver our programs.
